Looking for Light
Dana Chrysler knows her varied and dynamic employment history (including a stint with the Seattle Seahawks) before she landed in visual arts shaped the kind of photographer she is today. It was her own graphic design business which first led her to pick up a camera for a job with the Mount Vernon School District. Once she and that Nikon locked eyes - it was love at first sight!
Her first photography gig was for her own daughter's engagement photos and after seeing the love of this special couple on film, she knew she had found her passion. Dana specializes in life's milestones - senior photos, weddings, maternity, and family portraits. She uses natural light and locations that add beauty and a personal connection for her clients.
Dana also loves to capture the splendor of the Pacific Northwest in her fine art nature photography. "Photographing the outdoors gives me a sense of peace," she explains.
She finds inspiration driving around Skagit County and shot the front and back cover images for this issue of In Skagit magazine on one of these creative excursions. "I'm always looking for beautiful light - the way it shines through the stems of tulips, over the top of fields or reflects in the water."
