Kathleen F. Ritz has had a lifelong interest in nature and art. She started painting and drawing as a child. Having taken numerous painting courses over the years, while forging a career in nursing, she decided it was time to make a commitment to her artistic calling. In 2007, she joined the Gage Academy of Arts in Seattle, where she honed her craft.
Kathleen draws creativity from her environment with the beautiful nature scenes of the Pacific Northwest providing inspiration for her art. Her versatile hand captures a variety of subject matters from tulips to old cars to sailboats in Portage Bay.
"My favorite subject has always been landscape because I'm a hiker - an outdoor gal - and I love to bicycle," Kathleen explains. "I love to capture that moment of when the beauty of your surroundings just hits you; you just stop for a second to take it in."
Kathleen F. Ritz is a member of Skagit Artists Together, a local art group, and is featured in art galleries and coffee shops all around Skagit County. To view some of Kathleen F. Ritz's work, or commission a painting, visit her website at kathleenritzart.com.
